Daniel Johnston needed a band for his recent Popfest show, and it looked like Athens' own Casper & The Cookies were happy to get the call. I thought the Cookies more than rose to the challenge; as for Daniel, I certainly won't be missing any chance to see him in the future.

Acetate was a "supergroup" made up of Kevin Sweeney (Hayride), Dave Schools (Widespread Panic) and Ben Mize (Counting Crows). They seem to have ended their run after one album and a handful of shows, but maybe they'll surprise us with an appearance some day.
